Motor House Marks 10th Anniversary with Fundraising Events After Vehicle Damage

Baltimore Arts Realty Corporation (BARCO) is set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Motor House, a cornerstone of the city's creative community, with a series of events aimed at fundraising for repairs after a vehicle recently damaged the venue. The incident, which caused significant damage to the main entrance and interior Showroom doors, has prompted the nonprofit to rally community support to cover repair costs and ensure the continuation of its programs.

The celebration kicks off with a community-wide rent party tonight, July 10, followed by another on August 14, at the Showroom. These events not only aim to raise funds for the immediate repairs but also to commemorate a decade of Motor House's contribution to Baltimore's arts scene. Located in the Station North Arts and Entertainment District, Motor House has been a hub for artists, performers, and residents since its opening in 2015, offering gallery spaces, a black box theater, and affordable studios.

Leon F. Pinkett III, CEO and Executive Director of BARCO, emphasized the significance of Motor House's anniversary as a testament to the organization's commitment to fostering spaces where art and community intersect. The upcoming events, including Fashion Meets Art Weekend in August and a public celebration in October, will showcase the venue's impact on Baltimore's creative ecosystem.
